About this car
The third-generation 911 Turbo was virtually all new with 80 percent new parts.
The 964 represented the third generation of the 911 series, following the Type 901 and 930. The lineup included a “Turbo” model for those seeking greater performance, as well as the 911 Turbo S Leichtbau, a special variant created to commemorate Porsche’s success in the 1993 IMSA series. True to its “Leichtbau” (lightweight) name, the Turbo S featured high-lift camshafts and a revised turbocharger with increased boost, producing 375.7 HP/361.6 ft-lb. Weight was also significantly reduced compared with the standard Turbo model.
