The top-of-the-line variant of the fifth-generation Corvette revives the classic Z06 moniker.
The Corvette C5 lineup expanded in 1999 with the addition of a hardtop model, which increased body rigidity and improved performance. Even more appealing to enthusiasts was its lower price point compared to the standard model, which helped it gain strong support. In 2001, Chevrolet pushed the C5 platform even further with the Z06. Inspired by the spirit of the C2, it delivered outstanding performance and held the highest top speed of any production Corvette of its time.
