About this car
Lightweight and powerful, the Cobra is an American sports car icon.
Shelby developed the Cobra 427 with the goal of winning the FIA Speed World Challenge, where the team was actively competing at the time. The car was powered by a formidable 7.0-liter 427 “Side Oiler” V-8—a purpose-built race engine originally designed for stock car competition. To handle its impressive 493.1 HP output, the Cobra 427 replaced its signature side-mounted leaf springs with a modern double wishbone suspension, greatly enhancing its handling and stability.
