About this car
The ultimate version of the extremely lightweight Caterham.
This car was produced by Caterham in 1996, more than two decades after the company inherited production rights to the Seven from Lotus in 1973. As the Superlight name implied, weight was trimmed throughout the car, making it between 77 lbs and 110 lbs lighter than the standard Seven, depending on trim. The later models from 2008 and after, were powered by a 2.0-liter Ford engine producing 262.3 HP, giving it 0-to-62.1 mph acceleration of 2.88 seconds and performance that could rival supercars.
